This amendment aligns NZS 3122:2009 Specification for Portland and Blended Cements (General and Special Purpose) with a worldwide initiative to reduce the carbon footprint of concrete by reducing carbon dioxide emissions associated with the process of cement manufacture. The amendment also takes into consideration the results from tests on New Zealand concretes and cements.
